Originally based in Passaic N.J for 15 years as a sofabed manufacturer supplying department and retail furniture stores
such as E.J. Korvettes, Bambergers, Bloomingdales, B. Altmans, Gimbels, A&S, Maurice Valency, Huffman Koos, Jennifer
Convertibles, Speciality Furniture Retailers and Interior-Design Decorators. Our custom sofas were featured in the D&D
(Design & Decorator) Showcase building on 32nd Steet in New York City.
In 1990, we moved to our current facility in Garfield, N.J. and established the Sofa Specialist™ retail subsidiary.
As the year 2000 approached, we employed in excess of 150 craftsmen and women.
In 2008, as trends changed, our production business was adjusted to accommodate retail products and warehousing.
We have maintained a custom sofa and reupholstery dept. and concentrated on our customer's needs for case goods
such as bedrooms and dining room sets, as well as our full line of leather, motion, and stationary upholstery products.
It was this transition that enabled us to place emphasis on the Ashley line. This is the 17th year of our association
with the world's largest manufacturer of furniture.
We were furniture provider of set decoration for the Sopranos TV Series on HBO.
In 2008, we manufactured custom Luxury Box Sofas for the N.Y. Yankees at the new Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, N.Y.
Celebrities We've Done Business with: Comedians Rodney Dangerfield and Carl Reiner. Actors Al Pacino, Jennifer Lopez, James Gandolfini, Patrick O'Neal, Brian Cranston, and Michael J. Fox. Singers Georgia Gibbs, Mark Knopfler, lead singer for Dire Straights, Neil Diamond, and even Politician NJ Senator Bill Bradley, Bob Grant, from the radio, Baseball Players Willie Mays, & Gary Carter have patronized our business.
